The Dark Horse Years 1976–1992 is a boxed CD by George Harrison . It was released on March 1, 2004 (USA: February 24, 2004). In the USA, Great Britain and Germany, the CD-Box could not place in the charts.

The second CD box The Apple Years 1968–75 was released in 2014.

History of origin

The CD box The Dark Horse Years 1976-1992 includes all six re-released albums in CD format by George Harrison, which were released on his own label Dark Horse . The live album Live in Japan was released with a new mix in SACD format. The remixing was done by John Etchells and Damon Iddins at Astoria Studios in London . The studio albums were by Simon Heyworth and John Etchells in the Super Audio Mastering Studios in Devon newly remastered and include bonus tracks as well as the live album are sold separately. The following tracks, which were published between 1976 and 1992, are not included in the box: Cockamamie Business , Poor Little Girl and Cheer Down from the compilation album Best of Dark Horse 1976-1989 as well as the songs Sat Singing , Lay His Head and Flying Hour originally planned for the album Somewhere in England and remixed in February 1988 released on Songs by George Harrison . Life Itself (demo version) and Hottest Gong in Town were released on Songs by George Harrison Two in June 1992 and are also not included. With Songs by George Harrison and Songs by George Harrison Two is it's limited releases, each with a four-title EP with an illustrated book, which all copies were signed by George Harrison.

The box also contains a DVD , inserted in a 44-page hardcover book in CD format. The DVD contains, among other things, seven music videos, not including the videos for the single releases by True Love , Blow Away and All Those Years Ago . The DVD was also available separately from September 13, 2004.
