The hamlet of Edgarten is part of the town of Wasserburg am Inn in the Upper Bavarian district of Rosenheim .

Edgarten is about five and a half kilometers southwest of Wasserburg and is at an altitude of 454 m above sea level. NHN .

Due to the administrative reforms at the beginning of the 19th century in the Kingdom of Bavaria , the place became part of the rural community Attel , which also includes the districts of Attlerau , Au , Elend , Gabersee , Gern , Heberthal , Kobl , Kornberg , Kroit , Limburg , Osterwies , Reisach , Reitmehring , Rottmoos , Seewies , Staudham and Viehhausen belonged. In the course of the municipal regional reform in Bavaria in the 1970s, Edgarten was incorporated into the city of Wasserburg in 1978 together with most of the municipality of Attel.
