Edmond Mouche

The first Porsche Le Mans racing car. The number 46 356/4 SL Coupe was driven by Auguste Veuillet and Edmond Mouche in 1951 . The two French achieved 20th place in the overall standings and won the racing class for vehicles up to 1.1 liter displacement.

Edmond Mouche (born September 4, 1899 - May 12, 1989 ) was a French racing car driver .

Career

In the Le Mans history of Porsche Edmond Mouche takes a special place. At the beginning of the 1950s, Mouche was not only active as a racing driver, he was also close friends with the first Porsche general importer in France, Auguste Veuillet . Charles Faroux , one of the founding fathers of the Le Mans race, was behind the use of a Porsche at Le Mans. In 1951 Mouche and Veuillet entered the race with a 356/4 SL Coupe , finished 20th in the overall standings and won their racing class. A year later they won their class again and this time came eleventh overall.

Apart from Le Mans and sports car races, he competed in monopostor races in 1947 and 1948 . His best placement was fifth at the Grand Prix de Reims in 1947 .
