Eduard Wiprecht von Davier (born December 24, 1818 in Neeken , † October 1, 1895 at Gut Seggerde ) was a German politician and member of the Reichstag .

Live and act

Eduard von Davier attended high school in Dessau and Zerbst, as well as the convent school in Magdeburg. He then served as a Prussian soldier and from 1838 to 1846 was a lieutenant in the Guards Rifle Battalion in Berlin. In 1838 he became second lieutenant and in 1846 prime lieutenant . During this time he also taught at the Guard Division School in Berlin. From 1847 to 1849 he managed his estate Großsalze. In preparation for the administrative service he was employed by the government in Merseburg from 1849 to 1852. In 1851 he served as provisional district administrator for the Wittenberg district . Davier was from 1852/53 to 92 district administrator in the County of Hohenstein in Nordhausen . On December 11, 1866, it was on his initiative to build the district building for the Nordhausen district .

In 1891 he inherited numerous estates and the Altena manor in the Duchy of Brunswick from the childless widow of Werner Friedrich Julius Stephan von Spiegel , which were subsequently administered by his nephew August Rudolf Karl von Davier. In addition to his professional career, he was civil commissioner in General von Manteuffel's staff in 1866. In 1867 he acted as civil commissioner for the Thuringian states. In 1870 he was federal commissioner between the Rhine and Weser rivers.

Eduard von Davier was a legal knight of the Order of St. John . For his services, Davier was awarded the Order of the Crown, 2nd class, in 1892 . He was also an honorary citizen of the cities of Bleicherode , Benneckenstein , Ellrich and Nordhausen . He was a member of the provincial parliament of the province of Saxony .

He belonged to the Reichstag of the North German Confederation from 1867 to 1870 and to the Reichstag from 1871 to 1874 . He was sent there by the constituency administrative district of Erfurt 1 (Nordhausen). In the Reichstag he belonged to the conservatives .
