Karl Johann Wilhelm Leopold Ehrenreich von Redern (born October 23, 1847 in Wansdorf ; † September 6, 1923 ) was a Prussian major general .

He came from the Brandenburg nobility family von Redern and was the eldest son of the Prussian major Karl von Redern (1784-1858) and his second wife Elfriede, née von Hugo. His older brothers Herrmann (1819–1886) and Ernst (1835–1900) also embarked on a career in the Prussian Army and both made it to lieutenant general .

Military career

Redern first visited the cadet houses in Potsdam and Berlin . Subsequently, on April 18, 1865, he was transferred to the 3rd Westphalian Infantry Regiment No. 16 as a Portepeefähnrich.
