history

As a result of the administrative reforms carried out in the Kingdom of Bavaria at the beginning of the 19th century , the place became part of the independent rural community of Spies , to which the parish village of Riegelstein as the seat of the community, as well as the villages of Eichenstruth and Illafeld belonged. The hamlet of Schermshöhe , created in the second half of the 19th century, was added later. In the course of the municipal territorial reform carried out in Bavaria in the 1970s , Eibenthal was incorporated into the city of Betzenstein on January 1, 1972 together with the entire municipality of Spies. In 1987 Eibenthal had two residents.

traffic

The connection to the public road network is through a field path that branches off from a non-asphalt forest path about 150 meters east of the village. Coming from Reuthof from the northwest, this continues to the southeast, where it joins the BT 28 district road after about one and a half kilometers .
