Höchstädt is one of 23 officially named districts of the town of Betzenstein in Upper Franconia .

geography

The village is located about two kilometers north-northwest of Betzenstein and is at an altitude of 521  m above sea level. NHN .

history

Due to the administrative reforms carried out in the Kingdom of Bavaria at the beginning of the 19th century , the village became part of the independent rural community of Ottenberg , which also included the village of Mergners and the hamlet of Kröttenhof . In the course of the communal territorial reform carried out in Bavaria in the 1970s , Höchstädt was incorporated into the town of Betzenstein on January 1, 1972, together with the entire Ottenberg community. In 1987 Höchstädt had 52 inhabitants.

The connection to the public road network is made by a municipal road that runs through the town from the federal highway 2 coming from the north and continues in a southerly direction to Betzenstein. Access to the Federal Motorway 9 is possible at the Weidensee junction about four kilometers east-northeast.
