Altenwiesen is a hamlet and one of 23 officially named districts of the town of Betzenstein in Upper Franconia .

Altenwiesen is located about two and a half kilometers north-northwest of Betzenstein and is at an altitude of 535  m above sea level. NHN .

history

Due to the administrative reforms carried out in the Kingdom of Bavaria at the beginning of the 19th century , the village became part of the independent rural community of Leupoldstein . In the course of the municipal territorial reform carried out in Bavaria in the 1970s , Altenwiesen was incorporated into the town of Betzenstein on January 1, 1972, together with the entire Leupoldstein community. In 1987 Altenwiesen had ten residents.

traffic

The federal highway 2 coming from the southwest of Leupoldstein runs directly past the southeast outskirts of Altenwiesen and continues in a northeast direction to Weidensees . Access to the Federal Motorway 9 is possible at the Weidensee junction about five kilometers east-northeast.
