Münchs is a Franconian hamlet in the northern Franconian Jura .

geography

The village is one of 23 districts of the town of Betzenstein in the southern part of Upper Franconia . It is located about three kilometers east-southeast of the center of Betzenstein and is at an altitude of 512  m above sea level. NHN .

history

Due to the administrative reforms carried out in the Kingdom of Bavaria at the beginning of the 19th century , the place became part of the independent rural community of Stierberg , which also included the villages of Eckenreuth , Hetzendorf , Klausberg and Reipertsgesee , as well as the hamlets of Hunger and Waiganz . In the course of the communal territorial reform in Bavaria carried out in the 1970s , Münchs was incorporated into the town of Betzenstein on January 1, 1972, together with the entire Stierberg community. In 1987 Münchs had 28 inhabitants.

traffic

The connection to the public road network is established by a municipal road that runs through the town coming from Bundesstrasse 2 and continues eastwards to Stierberg. Access to the Federal Motorway 9 is possible at the Plech junction, about seven kilometers east-southeast of the village.
