    • The unicameral system or unicameral parliament describes a parliament that consists of only one chamber . Thus, an assembly of parliamentarians has the entire (particularly legislative ) state power. This means that intra-parliamentary blockades, i.e. This means that one chamber prevents the other from advancing through a veto or the like.

    The counterpart to this is the two-chamber system or the very rare three-chamber system .
