Emily Nelson (born November 10, 1996 in Lichfield ) is a British cyclist who is active on track and road .
Athletic career
Emily Nelson joined British Cycling's Olympic Development Program in 2013 . In 2014, she became Junior World Champion in team pursuit with Amy Hill , Hayley Jones and Emily Kay . In October 2014 she was accepted into the Olympic Academy Program . The following year she was in the team pursuit European junior champion (with Manon Lloyd , Grace Garner and Megan Barker ).
In 2016 Nelson started at the British Elite Road Championships and finished 45th in the road race and 32nd in the individual time trial . In the same year, she was U23 European champion with the British women's four of Emily Kay , Dannielle Khan and Manon Lloyd . She won two medals at the European Elite Track Championships : Together with Emily Kay in the two-man team and bronze with Emily Kay, Dannielle Khan and Manon Lloyd in the team pursuit. In 2017 she and Elinor Barker became vice world champion in the two-man team and U23 European champion in the elimination race . At the second run of the Track World Cup 2017/18 in Manchester , she won gold in the team pursuit with Katie Archibald , Elinor Barker and Neah Evans .
At the UCI Track World Championships 2018 in Apeldoorn , Emily Nelson and Katie Archibald became world champion in two-man team driving, while the British drivers won silver in the team pursuit. In 2019 she became European champion in scratch .
