Emma Maria Josefin Eliasson (born June 12, 1989 in Kiruna ) is a former Swedish ice hockey player who played for Brynäs IF , Munksund-Skuthamns SK and Luleå HF in the highest Swedish women's ice hockey league, the Riksserien .

Career

Emma Eliasson began her career in the junior division of Team Kiruna IF , where she only played with male peers. In 2004 she moved to the women's team at MODO Hockey , with whom she became Swedish runner-up in 2006. She then moved to Brynäs IF , with whom she took part in the newly founded Riksserien from 2008 and won several runner-up titles. In doing so, she first developed into an offensive defender before moving entirely to the left wing position .

In 2012 she left Brynäs IF and was signed by Munksund-Skuthamns SK for three years, where she was one of the top scorers in the 2012/13 season with 25 points from 24 games this season.

International

2004 Eliasson was appointed to the squad of the Swedish national team for the first time and completed her first World Cup in 2005 , where she won the bronze medal with the national team. At the 2006 Winter Olympics in Turin , she won the silver medal in the Olympic ice hockey tournament with the national team .

In 2007, 2008, 2009 and 2011 further World Cup participations followed, in which she won another bronze medal in 2007. At the 2010 Winter Olympics , she took fourth place with the national team.

Before the 2013 World Cup , she was called back to the national team, finished seventh with the team and thus avoided relegation to Division IA. In total, Eliasson played 190 internationals by 2013, scoring 23 goals.
