Emmanuelle Seigner
Emmanuelle Seigner (born June 22, 1966 in Paris ) is a French actress , musician and occasional model .
biography
Seigner comes from an actor dynasty. Her grandfather was Louis Seigner (1903-1991), highly respected in France , doyen of the Comédie-Française . Her father was a photographer, her mother a journalist. Her sisters are the actress Mathilde Seigner and the singer Marie-Amélie Seigner . She started working as a mannequin at the age of fourteen until she made her breakthrough as an actress with Frantic . Another hit was Bitter Moon from 1992, in which she appeared alongside Peter Coyote and Kristin Scott Thomas . She starred with Johnny Depp in the 1999 film The Nine Gates . In 2005 she played a singer in Backstage, singing all the songs herself. The film character is strongly reminiscent of the French artist Mylène Farmer .
In 2007 Seigner released an LP with the band project Ultra Orange & Emmanuelle . She was also in 2008 as a guest singer on the second solo album Wilderness by Brett Anderson in the title Back To You hear that appeared as a single in England. In 2009 she recorded the song "Love and Gasoline" for their solo album Code B with Bela B. from the German band Die Ärzte . In 2010 her solo album Dingue was released (with Iggy Pop and Roman Polański, among others ). In 2011 she sang “Dressing” with Brigitte Fontaine for their album L'un n'empêche pas l'autre .
In 2018 she was appointed to the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences , which awards the Oscars every year.
Seigner has been married to Roman Polański , 33 years his senior, since 1989 . The couple has two children: Morgane (* 1993) and Elvis (* 1998), both of whom work as actors.
