Emppu Vuorinen

Erno "Emppu" Matti Juhani Vuorinen (born June 24, 1978 in Kitee ) is a Finnish guitarist . He is a founding member of the band Nightwish and is also active in various side projects.

Career

At the age of twelve Vuorinen began to play the guitar, which he taught himself. His first band was called Darkwoods My Betrothed , and in 1996 he co-founded Nightwish. After school he began studying at a Finnish music school. He currently lives in Kerava , Finland. Together with the former Sonata Arctica guitarist Jani Liimatainen he played in the band Altaria , which he left after producing two albums due to a lack of time. With his new band Brother Firetribe he has released the albums False Metal (2006) and Heart Full of Fire (2008). Vuorinen can also be heard on the 2003 debut album by Adrién Barilari, singer of the Argentine band Rata Blanca .

Equipment

Vuorinen's guitar is based on the basic principle of the ESP Horizon FR II. It has two special designs (ESP EV-1 and EV-2). His practice guitars are ESP LTD MH-400 and ESP LTD MH-100. He used Washburn CS-780 guitars on previous Nightwish albums .

In the Bye Bye Beautiful and Amaranth videos , he used an ESP Eclipse and said, “The thing is, when we flew to LA , I left my guitar at home. So I had to go to the nearest guitar shop and buy an ESP Eclipse. "

In the studio and live, Vuorinen uses a Bogner supersonic amplifier. He is also accompanied on tour by a Mesa / Boogie Dual-Rectifier as a replacement amp . He uses both in combination with Marshall JCM 800 Cabinets.
