Enno Wilhelm tielko Heidebroek (* 15. November 1876 in Hannover , † 1. February 1955 in Dresden ) was a German mechanical engineering - engineering and university lecturer for machine elements and materials handling. As rector he headed the Technical University of Darmstadt in 1923/1924 and the Technical University of Dresden from 1945 to 1947 .

Heidebroek was born in Hanover and studied mechanical engineering at the technical university there from 1895 to 1899 . In 1899 he became an assistant at the chair for machine elements and hydropower machines at the Technical University (Berlin-) Charlottenburg . After just one year he submitted his dissertation in Hanover with the title Comparative Investigations on the Hydraulic Properties of Overpressure Turbines . As the first graduate engineer for mechanical engineering, Enno Heidebroek was awarded the academic degree of Dr.-Ing. at the TH Hannover, in Germany it was the third holder of this title. In 1902 he left the chair and went into industry. In 1911 he received a call to Darmstadt, where he became a full professor for machine elements, gear engineering and calculation at the Technical University of Darmstadt. For the years 1923 and 1924 he was elected rector of the Technical University of Darmstadt. In 1931 he accepted the call to the Technical University of Dresden, where he took over the chair for mechanical engineering and conveyor technology . In 1933 he signed the professors' commitment to Adolf Hitler at the German universities and colleges and temporarily took over the management of the German Student Union, which was in the process of being dissolved . Since 1934 Heidebroek was a member of the National Socialist teachers' association . From 1939 to 1940, Enno Heidebroek was briefly operations and organizational manager at the Army Research Institute in Peenemünde . On behalf of the Reich Minister for Armaments and War Production, Enno Heidebroek was appointed "Commissioner" in 1943 for the elaboration of the scientific-technical basis for the conversion from roller bearings to plain bearings as part of the "Schnellaktion Schweinfurt".

After the Second World War he was one of the university employees whose commitment enabled the reopening of the destroyed university. Even before the Dresden Technical University was officially reopened, Enno Heidebroek had been elected its rector in 1945. In 1947 he handed over the rector's office to his successor Werner Straub . Since 1948 he was a full member of the Saxon Academy of Sciences . In 1951 the Technical University of Darmstadt awarded him an honorary doctorate .

Heidebroek joined the Liberal Democratic Party of Germany in 1945 and became a member of the Advisory Assembly of Saxony in 1946 . On April 1, 1949, he replaced the deceased Arthur Bretschneider in the Saxon state parliament, to which he was a member until October 1950. From May 1949 he was a member of the 2nd German People's Council with the mandate of the Kulturbund and from October 1949 to October 1950 the Provisional People's Chamber of the GDR .

From July 16, 1946 to February 15, 1949, Heidebroek was the first president of the Chamber of Technology (KDT), the engineering organization in the Soviet zone of occupation.

Enno Heidebroek died in Dresden in 1955. His grave is in the Outer Plauen cemetery there . At the Technical University of Dresden, the test hall for conveyor technology on Nöthnitzer Strasse bears the name “ Heidebroek-Bau ” today .

Enno Heidebroek was a member of the student association Corps Altsachsen Dresden in the WSC.
