Ritter, Johann
Mayor († 1700)
1700 A huge wooden monument hung on the north side of the second (seen from the east) southern long nave pillar of St. Mary's Church, diagonally opposite the pulpit. A bulbous sarcophagus stood on a simple base, which carried a simple oval inscription plaque. Above him, two putti held the bust of the deceased painted on copper; next to it sat a grieving female figure with death emblems. The back wall was formed by a mighty obelisk with a cross at the top, in front of which floated a putti with the mayor's little white coat of arms enclosed in a cartouche. The shape of a coffin, which, as some claim, does not enclose his body, made it one of the church's notable monuments. It burned during the air raid on Palm Sunday 28/29. March 1942.

1677 Gudewerdt The monumental wooden epitaph was a late work of cartilage style by Eckernförder school to the family Gudewerdt inspired "by tangled Arkanthuslaub overgrown". It burned in 1942. "Epitaph for the mayor and head of St. Mary's Church, Matthäus Rodde, who died on November 29, 1677 at the age of 79, according to the inscription (weekly note March 25th-31st and April 8th-14th, 1855). It shows in the midst of a curl , richly gilded and animated by numerous putti as well as statuettes and half-figures, the deceased's coat of arms framed by a laurel wreath (in the blue shield a jumping black dog with a bone in its mouth and a gold collar with a ring; on the spangenhelm the same dog growing between two buffalo horns) and his bust portrait, framed by a wreath of flowers, painted on copper. Between the coat of arms and picture are the smaller coats of arms of the two wives of the mayor, Anna Prünster (the 1st and 4th fields of the quartered shield are split red and blue with a silver fasceted division, the Fields 2 and 3 show an armored arm with a torch on gold gt two armored arms carrying torches) and Katharina Schumacher (three silver lilies in the blue shield, a silver lily on the spangenhelm), and below the portrait the inscription plaque is attached. The epitaph, which was originally hung on the second northern choir pillar next to the altar, was moved to the second wall pillar of the south aisle when the sacrament house was moved closer to this pillar in 1855 "(Die Marienkirche.
