Ernst Albrecht von Köckritz

Ernst Albrecht von Köckritz (* 1724 in Wildenhagen , Neumark , † October 27, 1800 in Hamm ) was a Prussian major general and commander of the infantry regiment "von Budberg" .

Life

His parents were the Prussian captain Hans Joachim Ehrenreich von Köckritz († April 3, 1777), heir to Zohlow, and his wife Maria, born von Lettow († May 3, 1776).

On December 12, 1740 von Köckritz became a cadet in Berlin. On December 15, 1741 he became a non-commissioned officer in the infantry regiment "von Anhalt-Zerbst". During the Second Silesian War he took part in the Battle of Kesselsdorf . On March 2, 1746 he became an ensign, on January 27, 1751 second lieutenant . From 1756 to 1760 he fought in the Seven Years' War and took part in the battles near Lobositz , Prague and Roßbach . He was wounded in the battle of Kay . In the battle of Maxen he was captured by Austria. Before that, however, he had become Premier Lieutenant on June 8, 1757 , captain of staff on September 14, 1759 and captain and company commander on February 6, 1760 .

After the war he was promoted to major on August 30, 1771 . As such, he took part in the War of the Bavarian Succession in 1778/79 . On May 20, 1781 he became lieutenant colonel and on May 20, 1783 colonel . On December 19, 1788 he was appointed commander of the "von Budberg" infantry regiment. On August 28, 1789, he received his resignation as major general and a pension of 800 thalers.

He died unmarried in Hamm and was buried in the New Cemetery, which at that time was outside the city.
