Ernst Heinrich von Gillern (born January 24, 1730 in Krehlau ; † June 13, 1792 in Königsberg ) was a Prussian major general , chief of infantry regiment No. 16 and knight of the order Pour le Mérite .

Life

Ernst Heinrich came from the old Bohemian noble family von Gillern . He was the son of the judiciary and district administrator of the districts of Wohlau , Steinau and the heir to Hammer, Niederkrehlau, Karl Heinrich von Gillern (* 1686 - October 26, 1752) and his wife Katharina Barbara, née von Nerlich.

Military career

Gillern was in 1748 as a private corporal in the infantry regiment "of Lestwitz" no. 31 hired and took as Seconde- , later as a first lieutenant in the Seven Years' War at the battles of Prague , Kolin , Kunersdorf - here he was wounded - and Torgau part. Gillern was married to Anna Dorothea (1734-1806), the daughter of Land Commissioner Heinrich Ernst von Arndt, since November 24, 1767. The daughter Amalie (1774–1792) emerged from the marriage.
