Espen Lie Hansen (born March 1, 1989 in Drammen ) is a Norwegian handball player .
The 1.96 meter tall and 100 kilogram heavy left backcourt player initially played in Skoger and was then under contract with the Drammen HK club . In the summer of 2011 Hansen moved to the Danish first division club Bjerringbro-Silkeborg . After only one season in Denmark, he moved to the French first division club Dunkerque HBGL in 2012 , with whom he won the league cup in 2013 and the championship in 2014. For the 2014/15 season Hansen moved to the German Bundesliga club SC Magdeburg . In the summer of 2015 he switched to Bregenz Handball . For the 2016/17 season he moved to the Danish first division club HC Midtjylland . In January 2018 he joined the French first division club HBC Nantes . He will return to Drammen in summer 2019.
With Drammen he played in the European Cup Winners' Cup (2007/2008), in the EHF Challenge Cup (2009/2010), in the EHF Cup (2010/11) and in the EHF Champions League (2008, 2009) as well as with Bjerringbro-Silkeborg and Dunkerque in the Champions League (2012, 2014).
Espen Lie Hansen made his debut for the Norwegian national team on October 31, 2009 and has so far played 159 international matches in which he scored 456 goals. With Norway he was runner- up in 2017 and 2019 . He also took part in the 2011 World Championships and the 2012 , 2014 and 2016 European Championships .
