Esto is a city in Holmes County in the US state of Florida with 364 inhabitants (as of 2010).

geography

Esto lies on the border with Alabama , borders directly on the city of Noma to the east and is around 20 km north of Bonifay . Tallahassee is 160 km and Pensacola 180 km away.

Demographic data

According to the 2010 census, the then 364 inhabitants were distributed over 175 households. The population density was 63.9 inh / km². 96.2% of the population identified themselves as whites , 1.1% as African American , 0.5% as Indians and 0.5% as Asian Americans . 0.3% said they belonged to another ethnic group and 1.4% to several ethnic groups. 2.7% of the population was made up of Hispanics or Latinos .

In 2010 children under the age of 18 lived in 34.3% of all households and persons aged 65 and over lived in 35.1% of all households. 67.9% of households were family households (consisting of married couples with or without offspring or one parent with offspring). The average household size was 2.72 people and the average family size was 3.22 people.

26.9% of the population were younger than 20 years, 23.9% were 20 to 39 years old, 27.2% were 40 to 59 years old, and 22.0% were 60 years or older. The mean age was 39 years. 48.9% of the population were male and 51.1% were female.

The median annual income was $ 30,625, with 34.8% of the population living below the poverty line.

In 2000, English was the first language of 97.17% of the population and Spanish was spoken by 2.83%.
