The Euregio Egrensis is a 529 km long cycle path that leads through Bavaria , Thuringia , Saxony and Bohemia . It is also known as the Bavaria-Thuringia-Saxony-Bohemia long-distance cycle route . The long-distance cycle route Bavaria – Bohemia is a follow-up project and is also being advertised under the name Euregio Egrensis .

history

The long-distance cycle path was inaugurated in 2000 and is named after the Euroregion of the same name . Egrensis is the adjective of Egra , the Latin name for the city of Eger, which is called Cheb in Czech and is located in the center of the Euroregion.

The long-distance cycle path is continuously marked with its own symbol and runs through the Fichtel Mountains , Franconian Forest , Thuringian Slate Mountains , Thuringian and Saxon Vogtland , Ore Mountains (Krušné Hory), Falkenau Basin (Sokolovská pánev) and Imperial Forest (Slavkovský les) over the following stages:

Public transportation

The long- distance cycle route runs within the network of the so-called EgroNet . There is the EgroNet ticket , a special local transport ticket , which already includes taking a bicycle with you and is recognized on almost all rail and bus routes in the region.
