location

The village is located northeast of the municipality on the plateau of the southern Franconian Alb in a polje . A connecting road branches off from the state road 2324 in Predlfing to the east and in Erggertshofen to the south-east to Eutenhofen. There are connecting roads to the neighboring towns of Pestenrain and Gundelshofen .

history

Eutenhofen came in 1002 as a gift from King Heinrich II to the Benedictine convent in Neuburg an der Donau. After its repeal in the Reformation , the Duke of Bavaria received the right of patronage, so that the place remained Catholic. In the 14th century the von Meihern family owned it.

In February 1909 the village was hit by a great flood as a result of a sudden thaw after days of snowfall in the still icy sinkholes ; Much cattle drowned in the floods. In 1933 the place had 271 and 1939 262 inhabitants. During this time, the former municipality of Predlfing was incorporated into the municipality of Eutenhofen . The Zehentstadel next to the parish church was demolished in the 1970s.

Before the Bavarian territorial reform , the village belonged to the Riedenburg district court in the Regenkreis (renamed Upper Palatinate in 1837).

In 1938 the previously independent community of Predlfing was incorporated. In the course of the regional reform, Eutenhofen became a district of the city of Dietfurt an der Altmühl on January 1, 1972.
