Eva Brumby

Eva Brumby (born July 9, 1922 in Berlin , † May 14, 2002 in Hamburg ) was a German actress .

Life

The daughter of a lawyer took acting lessons from Lucie Höflich from 1938 to 1940 . In 1940 she got her first engagement at the Staatstheater Kassel . In 1945 she came to the Berlin Hebbel Theater , in 1949 to the German Theater .

1950 to 1954 and then again from 1956 to 1960 she was part of the Berliner Ensemble . She then appeared at various theaters such as the Städtische Bühnen Essen, the Städtische Bühnen Dortmund, the Ruhrfestspiele in Recklinghausen , the Junge Theater (later Ernst Deutsch Theater ), the Deutsches Schauspielhaus in Hamburg and the Kammerspiele there as well as the Lower Saxony State Theater and on of the Landesbühne Hannover .

Eva Brumby also appeared in television films and series. In the series Gynecologist Dr. Markus Merthin she had a permanent role as Eller Büttel from 1994 to 1995. From 1979 on she was a lecturer at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Hamburg.

Brumby was married to actor Gert Karl Schaefer . The couple had four children, including Susanne Schaefer and Gert Schaefer , also actors.
