The Evangeliumskirche is a church in the East Westphalian district town of Gütersloh . Together with the Church of the Good Shepherd, it belongs to the Northern Region of the Evangelical Church Community Gütersloh, which belongs to the Gütersloh parish of the Evangelical Church of Westphalia .
Building history and architecture
The Gospel Church was built between 1958 and 1960 based on a design by the Gütersloh architect Hans Tödtmann . It consists of the church building and a free-standing bell tower northeast of it.
The brick - central building has an irregular hexagonal floor plan. There is a lantern on the tent roof . On the north side there is an entrance porch with three portals . As a special feature, the church has an outside pulpit on the back.
The 41 meter high bell tower is five storeys high with a rectangular floor plan and square sound openings on all four sides.
The church was placed under monument protection in 1998 and entered in the list of architectural monuments in Gütersloh under monument number A 221 .
Furnishing
A bronze - crucifix comes from Herbert Volwahsen . Four concrete-glass windows , the themes of the book of Acts show were of Woldemar Winkler painted.
organ
The organ was built in 1968 by Ahrend & Brunzema in Leer-Loga . The instrument is based on North German and Dutch organs and has 20 stops on two manuals and a pedal , and a Zimbelstern as an effect stop . The organ is equipped with a tremulant that affects the entire work. The paddocks can be operated as hand pulls.
