The Eversand is a former buoy tender of the Federal Republic of Germany.

history

The ship was built in 1972/1973 under the building number 2246 at the Schichau Unterweser shipyard in Bremerhaven . The keel was laid on December 12, 1972, the launch on April 4, 1973. Completion took place in June 1973. The ship was used by the Bremerhaven Waterways and Shipping Authority on the Lower and Outer Weser . The range of uses of the ship included the laying out and control of all kinds of floating nautical signs as well as the pricking of tidal channels and their control.

The ship, which is named after a sandbank in the mouth of the Weser, was decommissioned on September 1, 2012 and replaced by the new Nordergrund buoy .

Technical data and equipment

The ship is powered by a twelve - cylinder four - stroke diesel engine from the manufacturer Klöckner-Humboldt-Deutz (type: SBF 12 M 716) with an output of 330  kW . The motor acts via a gearbox on a controllable pitch propeller with a Becker rudder . The ship thus reaches a speed of around 10  knots . Two generators with a power of 40 kW each ( apparent power 38  kVA ) are available for the power supply.

The ship has a 48 m² open working deck in front of the aft deck structure . An on-board crane is available here for launching and retrieving floating sea marks. The crane has a lifting capacity of 3 t with a radius of up to 7 m and another 2.6 t with a radius of up to 7.95 m.

Six people can be accommodated on board, for whom sleeping accommodations are available in two double and two single cabins .

Whereabouts of the ship

The ship was decommissioned in summer 2012 and sold through VEBEG in November 2012 for € 127,454 . In 2013 it was converted for its new use as a support ship for offshore projects . The ship is used by the Dutch company Van Laar Maritime.
