Yevhen Chytrov

Yevhen Chytrow ( Ukrainian Євген Хитров ; born August 18, 1988 in Krywyj Rih ) is a Ukrainian boxer. He was world champion in 2011 and bronze medalist at the 2013 European championships .

Career

In 2009 Khytrov took part in the Ukrainian Championships for the first time and won the bronze medal in the welterweight division (69 kg). In the same year he also took part in the first European student championships in Elista , but was eliminated in the first fight against a Russian fighter. At the Ukrainian championships in the following year, Khytrov started in the middleweight division and reached the final, which he lost to the third place in the 2007 World Cup and Olympian Sergey Derevyanchenko.

In 2011 Khytrov was able to win the Ukrainian championships for the first time, beating the European Championship third from 2011 Dmitro Mitrofanov (12: 6) in the final . Because of this success he was able to participate in the world championships in the same year. He beat Nursahat Paziyev, Turkmenistan (RSC 3rd), Vladimir Milevskij, Lithuania (21:13), in the round of 16 over Zoltán Harcsa , Hungary (RSC 1st), in the quarterfinals over Aleksandar Drenovak , in the semi-finals over Bogdan Juratoni , Romania ( RSC 2.) and in the final over Ryōta Murata and thus won the gold medal.

With this success he also qualified for the 2012 Olympic Games , but he lost his first fight after a controversial verdict against local hero Anthony Ogogo (+18: 18).

In 2013, Chytrow finished third at the European Championships behind Jason Quigley , Ireland , and Bogdan Juratoni , Romania .
