Felix Keisinger (born December 29, 1997 ) is a German skeleton pilot .

Career

Felix Keisinger at the German Skeleton Championships 2018/19 in Altenberg

Keisinger, who starts for WSV Königssee , made his debut in the European Skeleton Cup in the 2014/15 season . He had previously competed in the Junior Challenge Cup in winter 2013/14 . In his first European Cup race on November 28, 2014 on his home track at Königssee, he finished 13th, and the following day he crossed the finish line in eighth place. At the German Championships in 2015 in January, he finished eleventh on the Winterberg bobsleigh run . In the following winter of 2015/16 Keisinger achieved a second and a third place at Königssee, making him the first time on the podium. A few days later, with third place in St. Moritz , he celebrated another podium place and finished third in the overall ranking of the European Cup. At the German Championships in Altenberg in 2016 , he finished ninth.

In the 2016/17 season he took the following placings in the European Cup at his starts: 3rd place in Sigulda, 1st place in St. Moritz and two 2nd places in Altenberg. With that he finished 5th in the overall ranking. In the same season Keisinger also started in the Intercontinental Cup for the first time and achieved the following podium places: two 3rd places in Innsbruck as well as 2nd and 3rd places at Königssee.

In the following season 2017/18 he drove the entire season in the Intercontinental Cup and there for the first time the races in North America. In every race he was on the podium and achieved the following placements: 2nd place Whistler, 2nd place Whistler, 1st place Calgary, 1st place Calgary, 1st place St. Moritz, 1st place St. Moritz, 1st place Altenberg , 3rd place Altenberg. So at the end of the season there was overall victory in the ICC. Keisinger secured 3rd place at the 2018 Junior World Championships in St. Moritz.

Winter 2018/19 became Keisinger's premiere season in the World Cup, in which he started in the first half of the season. At the very first race in Sigulda he was able to celebrate a 5th place. In the course of the further season he achieved the following results in WC 8th place Winterberg, 11th place Lake Placid, 11th place Calgary. Keisinger competed in the Intercontinental Cup for the rest of the season, where he achieved four victories in his four starts in Park City and Lake Placid. With his victory at the Junior World Championships in February 2019 on the local track at Königsee, Felix Keisinger secured the right to start at the World Championships in Whistler, Canada, where he finished 13th.

Felix Keisinger has been part of the German Olympic squad since the 2019/20 season and starts in the World Cup. In the first two races of the season in Lake Placid he achieved 5th place and 3rd place, the first podium in a World Cup race of his career. After he finished 5th, 7th and 7th in the races in Winterberg, La Plagne and Innsbruck, he finished on the podium with a 3rd place at his home World Cup at Königssee. In St. Moritz, Felix Keisinger achieved another podium finish with second place and thus his best result so far in the BMW IBSF World Cup. At the Junior World Championship on February 8th, 2020, he managed to defend his title in Winterberg.
