Felix Schoft (born July 6, 1990 in Garmisch-Partenkirchen ) is a former German ski jumper . He started for the Partenkirchen ski club and was a member of the German B national team.

Career

Schoft started ski jumping in 1997 at the age of six. In 2000 he won the Bayerncup at the age of ten. The breakthrough came in 2005: The Partenkirchen native won a competition in the German Cup. In the same winter he celebrated a victory in the Alpine Cup . In 2006 he became German youth champion and made it onto the podium in the FIS Schoolchildren Grand Prix. In December 2006 he was appointed to the Continental Cup team and finished 21st in Engelberg , and in the second event a day later he even finished 13th.

After these good results, Schoft was appointed to the national group for the New Year's competition of the Four Hills Tournament 2006/07 in Garmisch-Partenkirchen . There he convinced in the qualification with a width of 116.5 meters and would have been qualified for the competition. But a non-compliant jump suit led to disqualification. Nevertheless, national trainer Peter Rohwein nominated the young German for the third jumping of the tour after Georg Späth could not convince before. In Innsbruck he made his debut in the World Cup and missed the final as 36th. Almost a year later, Schoft made his next World Cup competition at the New Year's competition in 2008. There and during the jumping in Bischofshofen he clearly missed the final round, in Val di Fiemme by only one place in 31st place. At the Junior World Championships in Zakopane in 2008 , Schoft won the gold medal in the team competition.

At the start of the 2008/09 season , Schoft was part of Germany's regular squad. As 36th, he was again unable to reach the finals in Kuusamo , but in the team competition on the same day he surprisingly achieved third place and a podium finish with the German team, which also included Michael Uhrmann , Martin Schmitt and Michael Neumayer . When jumping on December 14, 2008 in Pragelato , he achieved his first World Cup points with 17th place and his best individual result in the World Cup, which he was able to set on January 16, 2011 in Sapporo . Another highlight of the season was participation in the Four Hills Tournament . At the Junior World Championships in 2009 in Štrbské Pleso , he reached the vice world champion title with the team. Due to the good performance this season, the national coach nominated him as the fifth jumper at the 2009 Nordic World Ski Championships in Liberec . In Hinterzarten Schoft was able to defend the vice world championship title at the 2010 Junior World Championship in the team; in the individual he reached sixth place.

After Schoft was unable to assert himself permanently in the World Cup at the beginning of the 2011/12 season , he was used again in the Continental Cup and was able to achieve his first victory on snow in jumping in Sapporo on January 21, 2012. Before that, he had already won a summer competition in the Continental Cup in Oberstdorf in September 2008 .

In the 2012/13 season, Schoft only made a few World Cup appearances and jumped primarily in the Continental Cup . He once reached the points in the World Cup as 23rd in Harrachov . On January 11, 2013 he achieved his third victory in the COC on the normal hill in Sapporo .

In the 2013/14 season Schoft was no longer used in the World Cup . After participating in the last competitions within the framework of the FIS and Continental Cups in February 2014, he ended his career.
