Femke Heemskerk (born September 21, 1987 in Roelofarendsveen ) is a Dutch swimmer who won numerous medals at international championships over the short freestyle courses and with Dutch relays.

Career

Femke Heemskerk at the 2010 European Short Course

Her specialty is freestyle swimming . Since 2007 she has been celebrating international success. Her greatest individual success is the gold medal in the 100 m freestyle at the 2014 World Short Course Championships in Doha . She is also part of the extremely successful Dutch 4 × 100 m freestyle relay, with which she became world champion in 2009 and 2011 and European champion in 2008 and 2016 . She won six relay gold medals at short course world championships.
