Geographical location

Rzyszczewko (not to be confused with the village of the same name near Sławno, 20 kilometers away) is located in Western Pomerania , three kilometers east of Bukowo ( (Wendish) Buckow ).

Place name

Originally the village was called Ristow in German ; only later was it renamed Klein Ristow , probably to distinguish it from the other Ristow in the Schlawer district . In Polish today, the confusion would be back if one did not move between Rzyszczewo (formerly Ristow bei Schlawe ) and Rzyszczewko (formerly Neu Ristow, district of Schlawe ) in today's powiat Sławieński and our Rzyszczewko (formerly Klein Ristow, district of Schlawe ) in today's powiat Koszaliński can differentiate.

history

The manor village, which was later settled, has been known as the Vorwerk von Kummerow (today in Polish: Komorowo) from the second half of the 17th century until around 1880 and is sometimes also referred to as a sheep farm. The original layout of the estate is still clearly recognizable: on the south side of the farms that were later built on Dorfstrasse.

In 1928 the estate was divided into four courtyards. It used to be owned by the Podewils auf Krangen family , who sold it in the mid-19th century. The estate then had various owners, including Count Leopold von Baudissin from 1907 to 1914 , until Rudolf Ziesing finally had it settled.

Before 1945 Klein Ristow was a village in the Buckow community , which was called Wendisch Buckow until 1937. It was in the district of Schlawe i. Pom. in Administrative district Köslin of Pomerania Province .

On February 27, 1945, shortly before the Red Army marched in , the residents fled together in a trek towards the west. They reached the Oder , where they could only make their way to the western side of the river with only the bare essentials and leaving the carts behind. After the end of the war, Klein Ristow was placed under Polish administration together with all of Western Pomerania . Sections of the population from Western Pomerania who had fled via the Oder were refused by the Polish authorities to return to their hometowns and property.

Poles settled in Klein Ristow. Klein Ristow was renamed Rzyszczewko by the Poles . The village was - amalgamated with Bukowo as Bukowo-Rzyszczewko - a district of the urban and rural municipality Polanów in the powiat Koszaliński of the West Pomeranian Voivodeship (until 1998 Koszalin Voivodeship ).

church

Klein Ristow did not (and still has) no church of its own. The predominantly Protestant Klein Ristower belonged to the parish of Kummerow (Komorowo) in the parish of Krangen before 1945 . It was in the Schlawe parish of the Church of the Old Prussian Union . The last German clergyman was Pastor Wilhelm Vedder.

Today the inhabitants of Rzyszczewko are almost without exception Roman Catholic . The village now belongs to the Bukowo Polanowskie parish in the Polanów dean's office in the Köslin-Kolberg diocese of the Catholic Church in Poland .

school

Before 1945, the children from Klein Ristow attended school in (Wendisch) Buckow, which was there - conveniently located for them - on the road to Bosens (Bożenice).

traffic

The village can be reached via the side road from Sławno via Lejkowo ( Leikow ) to Jacinki ( Jatzingen ). Until 1945 Buckow was the next station on the small railway line Schlawe - Pollnow - Sydow of the Schlawer Bahnen .
