Rzeczyca Mała (German Klein Reetz ) is a village in the Polish West Pomeranian Voivodeship on the border with the Pomeranian Voivodeship . It belongs to the urban and rural municipality Polanów ( Pollnow ) in the powiat Koszaliński ( Köslin district ).

Geographical location

Rzeczyca Mała is located seven kilometers southeast of the city of Polanów ( Pollnow ) on the voivodship road 206 Koszalin ( Köslin ) - Miastko ( Rummelsburg ) and can be reached via a spur road a few hundred meters long. There is a rail connection via the Przytocko ( Pritzig ) station six kilometers away on the one from Piła ( Schneidemühl ) to Ustka ( Stolpmünde ) . Until 1945 there was also a connection to the Gramenz – Zollbrück railway via the Rzeczyca Wielka ( (Groß) Reetz , 1 km) station and to the Schlawe – Pollnow – Breitenberg railway operated by Schlawer Bahnen via Polanów ( Pollnow , 7 km) .

Place name

The German place name serves to distinguish it from the nearby village of Groß Reetz (from 1928 only Reetz , Rzeczyca Wielka), which is also followed by the Polish name.

history

The oldest history of Rzeczyca Mała coincides with that of Groß Reetz (Rzeczyca Wielka). Originally a Vorwerk with two Kossäten are called this 1784/2 farmers. At the end of the 18th century, in addition to the estate, Klein Reetz also had a farm in the Feldmark called Lattenkaten. In 1928, Klein reetz came to the rural community of Reetz as part of the reorganization.

In the beginning, Klein Reetz belonged to Pritzig (Przytocko), but Rüdiger and Adam Heinrich , sons of Christian Lettow zu Pritzig , received it in 1672 . In 1749 Klein reetz was sold to court judge Felix Otto von Kameke . It remained in the possession of his family until 1902. After that, it changed hands and in 1935 it finally came into the possession of Hans von Wedemeyer .

In 1812 Klein reetz had 44 inhabitants. Their number rose to 93 by 1843, was 79 in 1885 and 88 again in 1925. In 1928 the place was incorporated into the municipality of Reetz.

Until 1945 Klein Reetz was in the Pomeranian district of Rummelsburg in the administrative district of Köslin in the Prussian province of Pomerania .

Since 1945, the place is Polish under the name Rzeczyca Mała and part of Gmina Polanów in the Powiat Koszaliński in the West Pomeranian Voivodeship (1975-1998 Koszalin Voivodeship ).

Before 1945 the population of Klein Reetz was almost without exception Protestant . The place belonged to the parish Pritzig (today Polish: Przytocko) in the parish of Rummelsburg (Miastko) in the eastern district of the church province of Pomerania of the Church of the Old Prussian Union .

The inhabitants of Rzeczyca Mała have been predominantly Catholic since 1945 . They belong to the parish Rzeczyca Wielka ( (Groß) Reetz ), where a church was built in 1998. It is a branch church in the parish Polanów ( Pollnow ), which belongs to the deanery of the same name in the diocese of Köslin-Kolberg in the Catholic Church in Poland .

Evangelical church members living here are parish in the Kreuzkirche parish in Słupsk ( Stolp ), which belongs to the diocese of Pomerania-Greater Poland of the Evangelical-Augsburg Church in Poland .
