Ferdinand Philipp von Harsch
Ferdinand Philipp Graf von Harsch (born November 21, 1704 in Freiburg im Breisgau , Upper Austria ; † November 1, 1792 in Sankt Margarethen , Lower Austria ) was Feldzeugmeister , governor of Silesia , commanding general of the Temesch Banat , architect and builder of the fortresses Königgrätz and Arad and patrons .

Like his father Ferdinand Amadeus von Harrsch (1664–1722), Harsch pursued a military career.
In the Turkish War of 1739 he commanded an infantry regiment as a colonel . In the Austrian War of Succession he fought as a major general with distinction at Hohenfriedberg (June 4, 1745), Piacenza (June 16, 1746), in the company on Genoa and in Provence , and during this time advanced to field marshal lieutenant . In 1753, as imperial commissioner, he settled the border disputes with the Republic of Venice that had existed for 250 years . Was then appointed Feldzeugmeister and then General Commissioner of Graez and Friuli . During the Seven Years' War from 1757 to 1758 Harsch was the commanding general in the Temescher Banat. In 1758 he besieged Glatzer Neisse and in 1760 led the siege of Glatz . In 1763 he built the Arad fortress .
Harsch became governor of Austrian Silesia in 1772. The Königgrätz Fortress was built according to his designs. After his death, an epitaph was erected in the parish church of Sankt Margarethen.
Harsch, who himself was an enthusiastic flautist (dilettante), maintained an aristocratic band consisting of 24 musicians in Vienna and on his property . In 1760 he had a baroque palace built in Enzersdorf an der Fischa.

He married the baroness Ludovika von Stöcken . The couple had a son:
