Ferdinand von Bischoffwerder

Hans Rudolf Wilhelm Ferdinand von Bischoffwerder (born July 9, 1795 in Marquardt ; † May 24, 1858 ibid) was a Prussian lieutenant general and commander of the 11th Cavalry Brigade .

Life

origin

His parents were General Hans Rudolf von Bischoffwerder and his second wife Wilhelmine Katharine, née von Tarrach (1757-1833).

Military career

From September 2, 1803, Bischoffwerder attended the Knight Academy in Brandenburg an der Havel . On April 11, 1812, he joined the regiment of the Gardes du Corps of the Prussian Army , where he was promoted to second lieutenant until September 19, 1813 . During the Wars of Liberation , Bischoffwerder fought in the battles near Großgörschen , Bautzen , Dresden , Paris and also in the battle near Haynau .

After the war, he became Premier Lieutenant on May 24, 1817 and rose to Rittmeister and Company Commander by mid-March 19, 1821 . On April 17, 1831, he was appointed chief of the 2nd Squadron. In this position, Bischoffwerder became major on April 7, 1835 and received the Russian Order of St. Stanislaus in 1838 . On April 25, 1839 he became a regular staff officer and on September 17, 1843 he was awarded the Order of the Red Eagle, fourth class. On March 30, 1844 he was promoted to lieutenant colonel and entrusted with the command of the Guard Cuirassier Regiment . On January 14, 1845, Bischoffwerder received his appointment as regimental commander. In this capacity on March 27, 1847 promoted to colonel , followed on October 14, 1848, his transfer as commander of the 11th Cavalry Brigade and on October 24, 1848 he was aggregated to the Guard Cuirassier Regiment . On February 23, 1852 he was promoted to major general and on June 17, 1852 he was awarded the Order of the Red Eagle II. Class with Oak Leaves. Under awarded the character of lieutenant general Bischoffwerder received on 26 June 1856 his farewell to the statutory pension . On January 12, 1858, he was put up for disposal with a pension . He died on May 24, 1858 on Marquardt.

Bischoffwerder married Adeline Auguste von Schlabrendorff (1792-1858). The couple had two daughters:

  • Caroline (1822–1905) ∞ Lothar von Lyncker (1809–1864), Prussian major general
  • Anna (Pauline) (1837–1876) ∞ Ferdinand von Damnitz (1829–1896)
