Lothar Jakob Ernst Joseph Freiherr von Lyncker (born February 20, 1809 in Falkenberg ; † August 23, 1864 in Berlin ) was a Prussian major general .

Life

origin

Lothar came from the noble family of Lyncker . He was the son of Karl Ernst Ludwig von Lyncker (1782–1846), major in the gendarmerie , and his wife Emilie Juliane Ulrike, née von Holtzendorff (* 1788). She was a daughter of Lieutenant General Jakob Friedrich von Holtzendorff . His younger brother Heinrich (1810-1883) also embarked on a military career in the Prussian Army and made it to major general.

Military career

Lyncker first visited the cadet houses in Potsdam and Berlin . On July 28, 1827, he was transferred to the Prussian Army as a second lieutenant in the Guard Artillery Brigade . For further training, Lyncker was assigned to the United Artillery and Engineering School in 1827/29 . From 1834 to 1840 he acted as adjutant of the I. Department and was promoted to captain by the beginning of May 1844 . Associated with this was his use as the chief of the 3rd Horse Company . On January 1, 1853, he was appointed director of the artillery depot in Berlin. Promoted to major in this capacity in mid-June 1853, Lyncker returned to the Guards Artillery Regiment on June 27, 1854 with the appointment of department commander. On March 11, 1858, he was transferred to Poznan and appointed commander of the 5th Artillery Regiment . In this position on May 22, 1858 promoted to lieutenant colonel, Lyncker was on October 3, 1859 with the Red Eagle Order III. Excellent with a bow. After he had been promoted to colonel on July 1, 1860 , Lyncker was given command of the Guards Artillery Brigade on June 2, 1863. At the same time he acted from February 1864 as a member of the examination committee for prime lieutenants of the artillery . Lyncker was promoted to major general on June 25, 1864 and should take over the newly formed Guards Artillery Brigade . However, he died before taking command and was buried on August 26, 1864 in the Invalidenfriedhof in Berlin.

He was an honorary knight of the Order of St. John .

family

Lyncker had married the merchant's daughter Ages Maria Arnous (1818–1843) on April 15, 1838 in Berlin. After her death on January 15, 1848 in Berlin, he married Caroline von Bischoffswerder (1822–1905). She was the daughter of the Prussian Lieutenant General Ferdinand von Bischoffwerder (1795-1858). Daughters Anna (* 1839) and Hedwig (* 1851) emerged from the marriages.
