Filippo Timi (born June 25, 1974 in Perugia , Umbria region , Italy ) is an Italian actor and author .

Life

Timi took on first theater roles with Dario Marconcini at the Centro per la Sperimentazione e la Ricerca teatrale in Pontedera , Province of Pisa in Tuscany and with Cesare Ronconi at the Teatro della Valdoca in Cesena in the Emilia-Romagna region . Further stations were work with Robert Wilson and Pippo Delbono . In 1996 he joined the theater company of Giorgio Barberio Corsetti .

Since the late 1990s, he has also played roles in Italian and international film productions, some of which premiered in competition at the Venice and Cannes International Film Festivals . His double role in Marco Bellocchio's drama Vincere as Benito Mussolini or his illegitimate son earned him a 2009 nomination for the European Film Prize .
