Finn Ludvig Seemann (born October 18, 1944 in Oslo , † September 7, 1985 in Dovre ) was a Norwegian soccer and American football player.

Career

Finn Seemann was born in October 1944 in the Norwegian capital Oslo when Norway was under German occupation during World War II . He began his career at a young age in his hometown with Lyn Oslo . He made his debut in the 1961/62 season and played two games, he also scored his first competitive goal for the club. A season later, the striker scored eight times in 14 league games. With the team from Oslo he was runner-up behind Brann Bergen at the end of the season . In 1964 he won the Norwegian Championship with Lyn , with 13 goals in 17 games. A season later, Seemann was again runner-up, scoring eight times in 12 missions. In January 1965, Seemann moved to Scotland for Dundee United . In the 1965/66 season, Seemann played 14 games and scored three times in the opposing goal. He qualified with United as fifth at the end of the season for the first time for the European Cup. In the Messestädte-Pokal 1966/67 they won two wins against FC Barcelona before the club was eliminated by Juventus Turin . In the 1966/67 season , Seemann was able to score 5 goals in 16 games. In 1967 he played with the entire Dundee United squad under the name Dallas Tornado during the summer break in Scotland in the United Soccer Association . He was able to score one goal in five games. At United he shaped the Scottish club in the 1960s with the other Scandinavian players Finn Døssing , Lennart Wing , Mogens Berg and Örjan Persson . After a total of 67 competitive games and 17 goals, Seemann moved to the Dutch Eredivisie at the end of the 1967/68 season for a transfer fee of £ 25,000 to Amsterdamsche FC DWS . In three seasons he was a regular player and top performer in the team. From 1971 to 1973 he was active at FC Utrecht . In 1974 Seemann played as a kicker for the Houston Oilers in the National Football League (NFL). In 1975 he continued his football career in Norway, playing with Lyn Oslo and Bækkelagets SK . At the end of 1976 he ended his career. Finn Seeman died at the age of 40 in a traffic accident on European route 6 near Dovre .

National team

Finn Seemann played a total of fifteen times for the Norwegian national team between 1963 and 1970 and scored four goals. Seemann was twice successful as a goal scorer at the Nordic Football Championship .
