Firelight is a Maltese folk band .

The group was founded in June 2013 by Richard Edwards Micallef. In February 2014 they took part in the Maltese final for the Eurovision Song Contest 2014 in Copenhagen and won it with the song Coming Home , which then represented Malta in the competition in Denmark in May . They ended up in 23rd place in the final.

At the end of September 2014 a first album was released with Backdrop of Life and a second single with Talk Dirty . The album was released through the Universal Music Group .

Richard Edwards Micallef sings, plays the guitar and the "Appalachian Mountain Dulcimer ", his sister Michelle also sings and plays the piano. With Wayne (guitar, keyboard) and Daniel Micallef (electric guitar), two brothers of the two also play in the band. Tony Polidano (bass) and Leslie Decesare (drums) are friends of the siblings.
