Florian Steffens

Florian Steffens (* 1984 in Berlin ) is a German actor .

Life

Before starting his acting training, Steffens did a voluntary social year in England , where he a. a. worked in a bakery together with disabled people . He also studied theater technology and theater education for several semesters . From 2008 to 2012 he completed his acting training at the Ernst Busch Academy of Dramatic Arts in Berlin. He had his first theater engagements during his training. a. at the Karmanoia-Theater Berlin (2009), at the Maxim Gorki Theater (2009) and at the bat studio theater . At bat he played u. a. 2010 the title role in Richard III , directed by Leander Haußmann . In the 2011/12 season he made guest appearances at the Berlin theater collective Heimathafen Neukölln and at the Schaubühne on Lehniner Platz , as a locksmith Klesc in Nachtasyl .

After graduating from drama school, he was engaged as a permanent member of the ensemble at the Münster Theater at the beginning of the 2012/13 season , where he stayed for a total of three years until the end of the 2014/15 season. In Münster he played numerous leading roles in the classical theater repertoire, a. a. Franz Moor in Die Räuber (premiere: 2012/13 season, director: Frank Behnke ), Haimon in Antigone (premiere: 2012/13 season, director: Stefan Otteni ), the title role in Hamlet (premiere: 2013/14 season, director: Frank Behnke), Faust in Goethes Urfaust (premiere: 2014/15 season, director: Robert Teufel) and Beckmann in Outside Front Door (premiere: 2014/15 season, director: Bernadette Sonnenbichler ). He was awarded two Münster theater prizes; u. a. he received the “Volksbühnentaler” (audience award) as “Best Actor” of the 2012/13 season.

Florian Steffens has been a permanent member of the ensemble at Schauspiel Leipzig since the beginning of the 2015/16 season . In Leipzig he first took on a role in The Man from Oklahoma , a play by the Swiss author Lukas Linder ; in this role he succeeded the Leipzig actor Jonas Hien . Steffens played his first Leipzig premiere in November 2015 as "Gangsterer Andi" in Der Herzlfresser , the new play by Ferdinand Schmalz based on a " weird and creepy" story about a serial killer in Styria . Other roles of Steffens at the Schauspiel Leipzig included a. Algernon in Bunbury (2016), Freder Fredersen in a stage version of Metropolis (2016-2017; premiere: 2015/16 season, director: Claudia Bauer ), and the title role in Peer Gynt (2017/18 season).

Steffens worked in several short and university films and in a supporting role in the feature film A Cure for Wellness (2017). In the ZDF television series Zarah - Wild Years (first broadcast from September 2017), Steffens had an episode role in the 5th episode; he played the RAF terrorist Stefan Berger. In the ZDF series SOKO Leipzig (2020) he had an episode role as a suspect drinks driver. In the 16th season of the ZDF series SOKO Wismar (2020), he took on another series episode role as the suspect boatman Tim Horn.

Steffens lives in Leipzig .
