Jonas Hien

Jonas Hien (* 1979 in Munich ) is a German actor and theater director .

Life

Jonas Hien grew up in Berlin . Before starting his acting career, Hien was a singer in a punk band . From 2003 to 2007 he completed his acting studies at the University of Music and Theater "Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy" in Leipzig . After completing his studies, he was then a member of the ensemble of the New Theater Halle for two years , where he also completed his main studies. There he played u. a. the title role in Hamlet in a production by Christoph Werner . During this time he worked with his former student colleague Sebastian Kaufmane on the comedy project Stulle and Bulle about two civil investigators, which achieved "cult status" and with which he performed in many cities until 2015.

From 2009 to 2012 he was a permanent member of the ensemble at the Magdeburg Theater , where he played in productions by Jan Jochymski , Claudia Bauer and Martin Nimz (including Faust ). In Jochymski's new production of the Brecht play The Good Man of Sezuan in the 2010/11 season, Hien was the water seller Wang. He also played Raskolnikow , Don Quixote and Dr. Frankenstein. During his time in Magdeburg, his band "Jolly Jonas and the Persecuted From the Orchestra" was musically active in addition to his theater work.

From 2012 Hien worked as a freelance actor and director. He has made guest appearances at the Staatstheater Hannover (2012), the Schauspiel Leipzig (2013) and the Volksbühne Berlin . He worked several times with the director Herbert Fritsch , in whose productions Murmel Murmel , Untitled No. 1 and Ms. Luna he appeared at the Volksbühne in Berlin.

He first appeared as a director in 2011 at the Altmark Theater in Stendal with the play Open relationship for two ; his second production at the end of 2012 was the comedy Superhero - Who am I and if so, what can I do? which he wrote together with Dag Kemser at the Magdeburg Theater. In addition, he has directed several productions at the Theater Vorpommern in Greifswald , a. a. Pieces by Ingrid Lausund and Kristof Magnusson .

In the 2014/15 season he played Mordred in the Deutsche Schauspielhaus in Hamburg in the production of King Arthur by Markus Bothe . Jonas Hien has been a permanent member of the Deutsche Schauspielhaus ensemble since the 2015/16 season. There, here he played in Outlaw of Ayad Akhtar , terror of Ferdinand von Schirach (premiere season 2015/16, as indicted Bundeswehr pilot Lars Koch), Peer Gynt (premiere season 2015/16, as a husband, directed by Simon Stone ) and Die Kassette (premiere: 2015/16 season, as house servant Emil). In the 2017/18 season he was seen at the Schauspielhaus Hamburg under the direction of Karin Beier in the new Shakespeare production The Merchant of Venice as a friend of the merchant.

In the 2018/19 season he was a guest at the Schauspielhaus Bochum in Murmel Murmel by Herbert Fritsch.

In addition to his theater work, Hien also regularly appears in front of the camera for cinema and TV productions. He worked for the cinema a. a. with Philipp Stölzl. He had episode roles u. a. in the TV series Alarm für Cobra 11 - Die Autobahnpolizei (2012), Großstadtrevier (2012, as a suspect fish seller "Aale-Achim"), SOKO Leipzig (2015), Ein Fall von Liebe (2016, as a restaurant operator with financial difficulties) and The peppercorns (2017). In the 4th season of the TV series Die Kanzlei (2018), Hien also had an episode role as managing director of a metalworking company whose trainee is injured in an industrial accident. In the 2nd season of the ZDF series SOKO Hamburg (2019), Hien took on one of the episode roles as the suspect real estate agent Jörn Busche. In the 14th season of the ZDF series Notruf Hafenkante (2020), Hien had an episode role as the father of a missing 13-year-old boy.

Hien's hobby is surfing . He lives in Hamburg.
