Frank Haubitz

Frank Haubitz (born February 28, 1958 in Dresden ) is a German politician without a party . From October 23 to December 18, 2017, he was Saxony's Minister of State for Culture, with the shortest term of office of a Saxon minister since 1990 . Previously, he was at school Dresden-Klotzsche as principals involved and it is now back.

biography

From 1964, Frank Haubitz attended the 82nd Polytechnic High School "Siegfried Rädel" in the Dresden district of Klotzsche . He graduated from high school in 1976 at the Advanced High School (EOS) "Martin Andersen Nexö" - a special school for electronic industry . From 1979 to 1983, Haubitz completed a teaching degree in mathematics and geography at the Pedagogical University of Dresden , from which he graduated as a graduate teacher. Since 1983 he worked as a teacher at the 105th Polytechnic High School " Andrei Nikolajewitsch Tupolew " in Dresden-Klotzsche. From 1990 he directed this school. The Dresden-Klotzsche grammar school emerged from it in 1992 , as its headmaster Haubitz from the time the school was founded until he was appointed minister of education. After his tenure as minister of education, he returned to his position as headmaster of the Dresden-Klotzsche grammar school in January 2018.

Frank Haubitz is married and has one child.

Haubitz replaced Brunhild Kurth as Minister of Culture , who had resigned for personal reasons at the end of September 2017 after five and a half years in office. This made him a member of the Tillich III cabinet . When Michael Kretschmer took over the office of Prime Minister , Haubitz was not reappointed Minister of Education, and thus had a term of only eight weeks. During this time he mainly called for the Saxon teachers to become civil servants , which met with criticism in the ranks of the state parliament. Christian Piwarz succeeded him as minister of culture .

From 1998 to 2017, Haubitz was chairman of the Philologenverband Sachsen e. V., the Saxon professional association for high school teachers and the regional association of the German Association of Philologists .
