František Rajtoral (born March 12, 1986 in Příbram , Czechoslovakia , † around April 23, 2017 in Gaziantep , Turkey ) was a Czech football player .
Career
society
František Rajtoral began his career at 1. FK Příbram and Baník Ostrava . In 2005 he made his European debut in the jersey of Banik Ostrava when he was in the first round of the UEFA Cup against SC Heerenveen . From 2009 Rajtoral played for Viktoria Pilsen . With Viktoria Pilsen he won the Czech championship in 2011. Rajtoral played after the championship with Pilsen in the group phase of the Champions League and then in the round of 32 of the Europa League . There the team met the German Bundesliga club FC Schalke 04 . In the first leg in front of their own audience, Rajtoral scored 1-1 with the Pilseners. In the second leg in the Veltins-Arena in Gelsenkirchen , Rajtoral scored the goal to make it 1-1 with two minutes from time. However, Pilsen lost 3-1 in extra time and was eliminated.
On January 30, 2014, Rajtoral switched to the German Bundesliga for Hannover 96 on loan, initially until the end of the 2013/14 season . A purchase option was agreed between the two clubs for the connection, which Hannover 96 did not use.
In the 2016/17 summer transfer period, he and his teammate Daniel Kolář were signed by the Turkish first division club Gaziantepspor .
National team
Rajtoral made his debut for the Czech national team on February 29, 2012 when he came on for Theodor Gebre Selassie in the 1-1 draw against Ireland . In May 2012, Rajtoral was then nominated by Michal Bílek for the provisional squad of the national team for the EM 2012 . He also made it into the final roster. While he was only on the bench in the first group game against Russia , he was substituted on in the two following games against Greece and Poland . In the quarter-finals, for which the Czechs qualified as group winners, the team was eliminated by Portugal , with Rajtoral also not being used in this game.
Rajtoral died of suicide in April 2017 at the age of 31 .
