Franz Statz (born December 1, 1848 in Cologne ; † June 17, 1930 there ; full name: Franz Anton Hubert Statz ) was a German architect and master builder in Linz on the Danube .

Life

As the son of the Cologne architect Vincenz Statz , Franz Statz initially entered his studio when he finished school. He then went on to study architecture in Berlin and worked for a local building authority there for several years. Until the early death of his older brother Jean (1846–1887), he also worked as a teacher at the Bauakademie , but then returned to his father's studio in Cologne, which he also took over around 1889/90. In Cologne, Statz worked as his father as a diocesan master builder until 1901, before he took up the position of master builder in Linz until 1909 as his second successor.

The Archdiocesan Councilor Franz Statz could look back on an extensive oeuvre, especially in the Rhineland. He was married to Luise Statz, born in 1931. Bigge, and had several children with her.
