Franz Winter (actor)
Franz Winter (born November 26, 1950 in Tegernsee ) is a director , actor , reciter , author , music producer and writer .
Life
Franz Winter grew up in Austria and attended the Jesuit college "Stella Matutina" in Feldkirch / Vorarlberg and the Benedictine music school in Niederaltaich . His acting training took place at the Otto Falckenberg School in Munich. He received a “sponsorship award for the young generation” from the Academy of Arts in what was then West Berlin at the suggestion of academician and director Rudolf Noelte . From 1985 to 1988 he was acting director in Giessen.
Winter works as a director in spoken and music theater as well as in film productions, of which he is the author, in particular of cultural-historical films for Polygram International . Films were made about the Renaissance in Florence, Tuscany, Vienna, Prague, Venice, the cultural landscape of the Loire, Ludwig II. And Gustav Mahler . Franz Winter co-founded the music label “ Winter & Winter ” and as artistic director is responsible for musical recordings from Bach to Mahler, as well as for special projects such as the 1998 CD “Venezia La Festa”.

As a reciter he was, among other things, active in readings of opera text books such as Wagner's Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg or Hofmannsthal's Elektra at the Tyrolean Festival in Erl, which were released on CD by “ col legno ” as well as his “Beethoven audio books”. There he edited the 9 symphonies of Beethoven with a recording by Gustav Kuhn with his own texts (author and speaker) and established a connection between word and music.
