Frau Holle is a Swiss short fairy tale by Rudolf Jugert from 1977 . It is based on the Grimm fairy tale Frau Holle .

You always have to call Blondmarie because she is not doing her job, says a widow of her biological daughter. She simply does not notice that the hardworking girl works almost continuously and always remains friendly despite the unjust treatment. Blondmarie's stepsister, who repeatedly incites her mother against her unloved sister, is even worse.
When mother and daughter are having fun together again after giving Blondmarie plenty of work orders and the girl is sitting at the spinning wheel, she sings longingly: I want to fly like a bird ... As Blondmarie, her fingers that are bloody from spinning and the bloody spindle in the well wants to rinse off, she falls into the water. The mother who comes up orders her to get the spindle back from the well. So Blondmarie jumps and only comes to again in a meadow under a blossoming tree. When a voice sounds: "Oh pull me out, oh pull me out. I am the bread - here in the oven, ”the young girl complies with this request without hesitation. Even the apple tree that calls out: "Oh shake me, oh shake me, we apples are all ripe," she helps immediately. When she comes to a small house, an old lady is standing on the balcony. Blondmarie tells her about the lost spindle. Frau Holle invites her in and says that if she does all the tasks assigned to her well, she will be fine with her and if she shakes the beds particularly hard when the time comes, then it will snow in the world because she be Frau Holle. Blondmarie diligently does everything that is assigned to her and ultimately lets it snow a lot. She happily sings: It's snowing, it's snowing! Although Blondmarie is doing so well there, she suffers from homesickness, and so Frau Holle lets her go. Before that, however, a golden rain pours over her as she steps under the archway, as requested by the old lady.
When Blondmarie comes back home, the rooster crows: “Kikeriki, kikeriki, the Goldmarie is here again.” Full of envy, the lazy sister reaches for the gold coins, but shrinks back in horror because she almost burns herself on them. Blondmarie lets her understand that only she is allowed to touch the thalers herself. After telling her story to mother and sister, the lazy sister also wants to try her luck with Mrs. Holle. So she jumps into the well. When the bread calls, she only says that she has a lot to do, to get her hands dirty and the apple tree also lets her know: “You're just right for me, someone could fall on my head.” How expected, she is invited in by Frau Holle, but avoids work wherever possible. When Frau Holle releases her from her job, she hurries expectantly towards the gate, but instead of the expected golden rain, a jet of pitch pours over her. "Kikeriki, kikeriki, the unlucky marie is here again", the rooster crows at the sight of her. The mother is appalled by her appearance, but then takes her in her arms with pity and is now defaced with numerous spots of bad luck. All of a sudden, Ms. Holle appears and explains: “This is the idle bad luck and the lie-shit, it doesn't go away.” But there is a way. You now ask them three questions: “1. Who was lazy, has never done his job and overslept for half the day? ”Pechmarie answers meekly: Me! And the women's noses are white again. “Who was always hardworking, kind and good?” “Goldmarie” is the answer. Ms. Holle replies: “Hands, dress and legs are all back in,” and that's how it is. “And who was bad for Goldmarie?” Is the last question. Mother and daughter meekly admit that too. "Look, face and hair, all right again." The team hugged happily, because now all the bad luck is gone. Then apologize to Goldmarie, who makes it easy for you. She was always good to them, everything was forgotten. Ms. Holle comments on this: "It's never too late to go into yourself, always think about it and hold onto your happiness." Now they want to do that as a family.

The film was produced by Swiss television for German and Romansh Switzerland (SF DRS) (Zurich). In 1971, Rudolf Jugert made a series of short films based on fairy tales by the Brothers Grimm, including this one by Frau Holle.
The film, shot in 1971, only had its premiere on April 11, 1977. So far this version of Frau Holle has only appeared on Super8 and VHS.
criticism
The fairy tale site neanderpeople.npage.de spoke of a "poetic film adaptation that is brought to new life by well-known actors". On the fairy tale page pytalhost.com. it says: “Open-mindedness and helpfulness on the one hand, envy and greed on the other - gold and bad luck are the reward.
