Fred Jay Prize
The Fred Jay Prize has been awarded to German-language songwriters since 1989 . It is reminiscent of the Austrian lyricist Fred Jay (1914–1988) and was donated by his widow Mary Jay-Jacobson. The award is endowed with 15,000 euros and is given under the patronage of the GEMA Foundation to artists who have achieved success in the field of popular German-language songs and who have made a contribution to the creation and promotion of German texts.
