Alexander M. Helmer

Alexander Maria Helmer (* 1967 in Vienna ) is an Austrian singer, actor, director, composer and lyricist.

Life

After completing his singing and acting studies at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna and at the Vienna Conservatory , Alexander M. Helmer made his theater debut in 1986 as Koloman Zsupán in Countess Mariza at the Baden City Theater . In 1997 he received the sponsorship award from Bayerischer Rundfunk and the Hanns Seidel Foundation for young song poets. In 1998 the Fred Jay Prize for German-language lyricists followed. In 2000 Helmer portrayed Nostradamus in the world premiere of the musical of the same name. He made his directorial debut in 2001 at the Stadttheater Passau with Ernst Krenek's opera Der Diktator .

He had engagements at the Tiroler Landestheater Innsbruck, at the Stadttheater Baden, at the Landestheater Coburg , at the Frankfurt boulevard theater " Die Komödie ", at the Ronacher Theater in Vienna, at the Pfalztheater Kaiserslautern , at the United Theaters in Bozen , at the Stadttheater Bern , at the open-air theater in Tecklenburg , at the Regensburg Theater and at the Luisenburg Festival near the town of Wunsiedel in the Fichtel Mountains .

On television, Helmer was seen in smaller roles in the German-Austrian television series Schlosshotel Orth or the Austrian film biography The Strauss Dynasty . He also appeared in the Tatort television series .

Helmer was able to achieve top 10 placements not only in Austria, but also in Germany. With Engel must be free , he was number one in the German airplay charts for four weeks in 2002 . In 2005 Helmer was number one in the German airplay charts with Was für ein Tag for four weeks.
