Fred Hochschwarzer

Alfred Karl Hochschwarzer (born February 4, 1914 in Schwaz ; † July 19, 1990 there ) was an Austrian painter .

Life

Hochschwarzer attended the State School for Applied Arts in Munich in 1930/31 and then studied from 1931 to 1937 at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich with Franz Klemmer . From 1948 he worked as a freelance artist in Schwaz. He was a member of the artists' association "Die Waage".

Fred Hochschwarzer painted genre , nude and landscape pictures and had exhibitions in Innsbruck , Schwaz, Bucharest , Bozen and Vienna . He also designed murals and glass windows. Together with Max Spielmann , Hochschwarzer was the leading glass painter in Tyrol after the Second World War, who created glass windows for over twenty churches throughout Austria, including the coat of arms windows for the Albertine choir of St. Stephen's Cathedral in Vienna .
