At the end of the year, the contract with Grêmio ended and Fred moved to Juventude for the third time . With this went back to the B series. Although he also had offers from Série A clubs, he chose Juventude. The decisive factor for him was the proximity to home and the more interesting sporting task to play for promotion in Série B, as against relegation in Série A. After the season, Fred left the club again to join Novo Hamburgo again for the 2019 national championship .
