Friedrich Wilhelm Kiel

Friedrich-Wilhelm Kiel (born May 17, 1934 in Berlin-Charlottenburg ) is a German politician of the FDP / DVP .

Life and work

After graduating from high school in Karlsruhe , Kiel studied physics, mathematics and sports in Karlsruhe . From 1962 to 1966 he worked as a high school teacher in Ettlingen . Kiel is married and has three children.

politics

Kiel became a member of the FDP in 1964. From 1966 to 1970 he was Mayor in Ettlingen and then to 1976 mayor in Pforzheim . In 1976 he was elected Lord Mayor of Fellbach . After being re-elected several times, he held the post until 2000.

From 1988 to 1990 Kiel was chairman of the FDP Baden-Württemberg and from 1992 to 2001 a member of the state parliament of Baden-Württemberg . He represented the constituency 15 Waiblingen through a second mandate and was the financial policy spokesman for the FDP / DVP parliamentary group.

Honors

On May 5, 2001 Friedrich-Wilhelm Kiel received the Medal of Merit of the State of Baden-Württemberg from Prime Minister Erwin Teufel . The University of Pécs made him an honorary senator. The cities of Pécs and Fellbach granted him honorary citizenship .
