The directors of the Public Commercial School in Leipzig, Daniel August Schiebe, Professor Drs, have made lasting merit in identifying and perfecting a suitable method for teaching commercial science. Carl Gustav Odermann and the teacher of this institution, Dr. Feller, later director of the business school in Gotha, her specialist publications were groundbreaking. Several of their commercial textbooks are still in use today for teaching commercial science at domestic and foreign commercial schools. As heads of commercial schools, these men endeavored to combine thorough instruction with practical exercises and thereby achieve a clear vision and good skill in the execution of commercial work with their students.
